The College of Business prepares people for professional careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations by providing a base of liberal education needed by all educated persons. The College of Business also provides business-oriented instruction in professional fields.
Business instruction and research revolves around three themes: preparing the manager for a variety of business activities; developing analytical skills; and fostering a critical awareness of the social, political, and economic environment in which decisions are made.
On the Athens Campus, the College of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) with majors in accounting, business law, business administration, finance, human resource management, international business, management, management information systems, marketing, and business economics. The College of Business offers a minor on all campuses.
Students interested in attending the Zanesville Campus can complete all requirements for the BBA with a major in business administration. Students interested in other majors within the College of Business must complete their major coursework on the Athens Campus. For more information about the Business Administration major or business minor, OUZ students can contact Debra Stockwell, undergraduate business advisor on the Zanesville Campus, at 740-588-1513, or stockwel@ohio.edu.
Business Minor
The business minor can be a useful complement to many majors and is open to any student not enrolled in the College of Business. OUZ students interested in the business minor are encouraged to see Debra Stockwell for advising.

Requirements for all College of Business Majors
All students complete the University's general education requirements for graduation and fulfill a minimum of 192 quarter hours of credit with a g.p.a. of 2.0 for all hours attempted. They must also maintain a 2.0 g.p.a. for courses taken in business and economics as well as a 2.2 g.p.a. for courses in the major. The College of Business limits transfer credit for required business courses taken at a lower level to such courses as it offers at that lower level. Other transfer credits accepted by the University are evaluated as either business or nonbusiness electives.
Courses included in the 192-hour minimum for the bachelor's degree must be chosen so that at least 79 quarter hours are earned in nonbusiness areas.
