The Women of Appalachian Conference:
Their Heritage & Accomplishments announce the Young Appalachian
Writers Competition, open to high school females between the
ages of 15 and 21 from the 29 Appalachian counties in Ohio. Any
original, unpublished work about a fictional character living
in an Appalachian community is eligible. Stories should be between
500 and 2,500 words. Entrants may submit only one work.
Entries, along with a cover letter, should be sent to Women of
Appalachia Conference Young Writers Competition, Office of Continuing
Education, OU-Zanesville, 1425 Newark Road, Zanesville, OH 43701.
Entrants should include their name, address, e-mail address, telephone
number, age, title of submission, and a brief biography (limit
