It’s that time again for back to school! Some families need help with the cost, especially for expensive shoes. Rotaract of Zane State College/Ohio University Zanesville is asking for YOUR help to put shoes on those children in need! Rotaract is joining with Wendy’s & WHIZ’s Lace Up for Kids with a goal of 50 pairs of shoes to help the effort.
How can you help? Bring in a new pair of sneakers (children’s size 5 to adult with laces or Velcro and soles acceptable for gym floors) starting now until Monday, August 13.
Where can I drop the shoes off? You can drop your donated shoes off at four different locations on the Zane State College and Ohio University Zanesville campuses. There are boxes in the Information Center (main office) in Elson, College Hall Duplicating Center, or at the Herrold Hall Library.
Can I make a monetary donation? Of course! Donate $15 to purchase a new pair of sneakers. Please make checks payable to Lace Up For Kids and send your check to our campus Rotaract Advisors, Chris Shaw, Campus Center T480K; or to Dotty Welch or Heather Shepherd in College Hall.
Rotaract? How can I become a member? Rotaract is a newly formed professional student organization here at Zane State College and Ohio University Zanesville. Rotaract’s goal is to encourage professional development through volunteering in the community through service projects and networking. You may contact Rotaract advisors, Chris Shaw at (shaw@ohio.edu) T480 (mailbox in Elson) or Dotty Welch (dwelch@zanestate.edu) at C117F (mailbox in College Hall) for more information. In addition, you may contact current Rotaract President, Megan Weidig at zscouzrotaract@gmail.com, for more information on becoming a member of Rotaract.
Let’s help kids take a step on the path to a better education!
