Are you prepared for a critical incident?
ALICE Training is well known for school safety, but safety awareness is also important in public areas such as malls, movie theaters, restaurants, parks and churches. Being aware and prepared helps our community be in a better position to proactively deal with extreme situations should they occur.
Zanesville Campus Director of Public Safety, Bethany Hayes, will present Safety in the Community-ALICE Awareness. She will offer tips and tricks to help create an awareness to ensure your safety.
Bethany will remind participants of the importance of attitude in surviving critical incidents. The goal of the training is to encourage community members to come together for a proactive approach in dealing with situations that could be life threatening.
“Having options in your mind in the event that you encounter a situation will increase your chances for survival,” Bethany said.
As part of the Ohio University Zanesville Third Thursday Event Series, this free program will be held at Ohio University Zanesville’s Elson Hall Auditorium on Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m. The Third Thursday Event Series provides free cultural, diversity and educational programming in the community.
