The Press Release

Requests of support from the Public Relations department normally involve a press release. To request a release, send an email to shaw@ohio.edu or fill out the online form here and please be sure to include all pertinent information. If you have supporting materials, a conference brochure, a photograph, etc., send these items through campus mail or drop them off at Elson Hall 106. All items will be returned unharmed!

The public relations department maintains an extensive distribution list of local media outlets and university contacts to which news items are sent. When the PR Department discovers items in the print media, they are forwarded to the dean’s office. The original news article is placed on the bulletin board outside the Learning Advancement Center. Copies are made for the Regional Coordinating Council, the Dean, the PR Department and for the university employee about whom the story is written, providing tangible evidence of support to the university.
