Ohio University-Zanesville welcomes Dr. David Niven to its Faculty
Dr. David Niven has accepted the position of associate professor of political science at Ohio University-Zanesville. Prior to his appointment at Ohio University-Zanesville Niven held a visiting research scholar position at John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy at Ohio State University and was on the faculty at Florida Atlantic University.
Niven has authored several books including The Politics of Injustice: The Kennedys, The Freedom Rides, and the Electoral Consequences of a Moral Compromise, University of Tennessee Press; Tilt? The Search for Media Bias, and The Missing Majority: The Recruitment of Women as State Legislative Candidates both published by Praeger Publishers, Westport, Connecticut.
As associate professor of political science, Niven will bring diverse experience and expertise to a range of American government and politics courses he will be teaching at Ohio University-Zanesville including American National Government, State Politics, Political Parties, and Politics of Mass Media.
Dr. Niven, who received his doctorate from Ohio State University, currently resides in Worthington. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to teach at Ohio University-Zanesville. The campus has a very welcoming learning environment and I look forward to working closely with the students,” says Niven.
