Underwood Published in Library Mosaics Magazine and American Libraries

Zanesville, OH- College students come and go at Ohio University-Zanesville taking advantage of technology as they learn, but Amy Underwood has been with the Zanesville Campus Library for over 27 years. As an active member of the four-person Library staff Underwood helps keep the campus library run smoothly and efficiently as technology improves. Recently Underwood was recognized as the employee of the month, recognized in Library Mosaics Magazine for her support in the Library and quoted in the March Issue of American Libraries.

“People don’t realize how much libraries have evolved over the past 30 years.  I find that my work now is so totally different compared to what I was doing in the same library in the late 1970s. Underwood says, “It is as if I have changed jobs several time over the years.”

Underwood’s experience led her to submit an article to Library Mosaics, a publication for library paraprofessionals. From the challenge of changing technology to serving both Ohio University-Zanesville and Zane State College students, Amy’s years of experience and success in the library field was selected for publication.

Amy submitted her article for publication sharing the best practices of a campus library in changing times. Recently the Zanesville Campus Library was refurbished and now features a new curriculum materials center, a new circulation desk, a multi-media lab, computer learning commons, group study rooms, and a listening lab.
