


Seniors who are graduating from a high school located in one of Ohio’s 29 Appalachian counties are eligible to apply for the Ohio University Appalachian Scholarship. Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Ohio University-Zanesville’s service area include Coshocton, Guernsey, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble and Perry counties.
Students must submit their application for university admission, Appalachian Scholars application and transcripts to the Zanesville Campus by April 7. The student's FAFSA results must be on file with Ohio University by the April 7 deadline as well.
The $10,000 per year scholarship will be awarded to a beginning freshman from each of the regional campuses of Ohio University and is renewable for up to four years. eligible students must have an ACT composite score of 17 or greater, a 2.5 grade point average or be in the top 40% of his or her graduating class, be involved in a college preparation or college technical preparation curriculum and be motivated to succeed. In addition, the student is required to have a maximum estimated family contribution of $8000 toward the student’s education.
