Deborah Henderson Recognized by Lifeline of Ohio

Deborah Henderson, Ph. D., R.N., Associate Professor of Nursing, Ohio University – Zanesville received the Shining Star of Excellence award from Lifeline of Ohio for supporting and educating hospital staff and nursing students about organ and tissue donation.

“Dr. Henderson is innovative in her approach to promoting organ and tissue donation, both within Ohio University-Zanesville

and the community it serves,” says her nominator. “She believes that it is vital for nursing students to transition into the 

profession feeling comfortable about the myths and facts commonly associated with donation. She also wants to be sure 

that they are aware of the difference that the "gift of life" can make in the lives of countless individuals.”
