Ohio University-Zanesville Nursing Department Receives Equipment Funding

 

Zanesville, OH- Nursing students at Ohio University-Zanesville will have a more realistic clinical experience thanks to a grant from the University’s 1804 Fund. Dr. Sally Fusner and Professor Sharon Staib requested funding to obtain state-of-the-art intravenous pumps, a breathing simulation learning tool, cardiac monitor for simulations and a new hospital bed for the on-campus laboratory. 

    “We strive to provide the education our graduates need to be ready to enter the medical field with confidence and experience,” says Fusner. “This equipment will ensure that mission continues.”

     Fusner and Staib’s proposal for the Zanesville campus entitled “Impact on Growth in Nursing through Innovative Training Equipment, IGNITE for short, was among several undergraduate learning enhancement grants awarded by the Fund.  The Ohio University 1804 Fund was endowed in 1979 by a visionary gift to enhance the quality of university programs and life through its support of undergraduate learning, faculty research and graduate studies.
