Eight Ohio University-Zanesville Faculty Share Best Practices
Ohio University-Zanesville faculty had a strong presence in the Spring 2006 Association for University Regional Campuses of Ohio (AURCO) Journal. Eight faculty members who either co-authored or authored articles include Timothy Blake, Dr. Kitty Consolo, Dr. Shahrokh Ghaffari, Dr. Deborah Henderson, Pamela Sealover, Dr. Sheida Shirvani, Sandy Jones, and Stacie Sweet.
Blake, Jones, and Sweet published “Adult Learning: A Comparison of Traditional vs. On-Line Methods of Delivery.” The second Ohio University-Zanesville article was published by Consolo entitled, “Implementing Physical Relaxation Techniques as a Class or for Stress Reduction in Any Class.” Henderson and Sealover’s article entitled Designing and Educational Game for the Fun of Learning was published and Ghaffari work entitled “Chemistry or Mathematics?” was also included. In addition, Dr. Shirvani co-authored an article entitled “Dick and Jane Online: Implications of Gender Differences for Distance Learning with a colleague, Dr. James Aman, of Saint Xavier University.
The faculty also presented their work at the annual conference of AURCO recently. AURCO is an association that is designed to provide professional development and sharing of best practices in higher education among regional university campuses throughout Ohio. The AURCO Journal is a resource for Ohio’s twenty-three regional campuses to help meet the needs of students, communities and constituents of the individual institutions. It provides commentary and best practice on the state of learning, technology, and research on regional campuses.
