Thanks to funding from the AT&T Excelerator grant program, the Zanesville campus of Ohio University and Zane State College is better prepared for an emergency. Project Safety Connect provided funding for Enhanced 911 software and programming to inform the 911 operators from exactly what building and room an emergency call is placed.

Terry Moore, director of security for the campus, placed a 911 call as a demonstration and the audience applauded as the operator verified the building and room. Those on hand for the celebration included partners that made the project possible including Bo Keck, 911 Coordinator for Muskingum County; BJ Smith, Director of External Affairs at AT&T; County Commissioners Don Bates, Brian Hill and Dorothy Montgomery; Jennifer Highstand, Zanesville Muskingum County Health Department; and Bob Brandford, representing the City of Zanesville.
