Ohio University-Zanesville Student Communication Honor Society Receives Recognition
Omicron Alpha Chapter of Lamda Pi Eta, the Ohio University Zanesville Student Communication Honor Society, was recently recognized by the Ohio Communication Association as Ohio’s Distinguished Student Organization for 2006.
Omicron Alpha was nominated by its advisor, Dr. Sheida Shirvani, for the students’ outstanding achievements over the past year. The Ohio University-Zanesville student organization joined in Hurricane Relief efforts to raise more than $1,000. In addition, the group helped promote United Way fundraising efforts and sponsored a communication night for Toastmasters International.
“We have several members attending the Ohio Communication Association annual conference in October,” said Kathleen Dobbins, vice president of the Omicron Alpha Chapter. “Knowing we’ll receive an award makes the trip to Perrysburg even more exciting.”
