Shana Fair, Tracey Humphrey, and Amy Underwood, members of the Zanesville Campus Library at Ohio University-Zanesville, recently presented at the 2006 Academic Library Association of Ohio Conference (ALAO).

The team made two presentations capitalizing on the conference theme, which was Recipes for Library Success: Ingredients, Process, and Product. Their first presentation, entitled “Double, Double Toil, and Trouble: Brewing Up Successful Workers,” focused on innovative techniques for training and empowering student workers such as using a blog or student wiki to supplement training.

The second presentation was in the form of a poster presentation entitled, “Public Services Pizza: The Works.” The staff met with conference attendees to share ideas for making the most of staff talents by reducing three service points in library service to one centralized area.

“It is rewarding to have our staff have the opportunity to share best practices in library service,” said Fair, library director. Humphrey added, “We are still receiving requests for sharing our materials from around the country.” The team will be presenting again at the OhioLink Two-Year Library Conference in 2007.
