The OUZ Athletic Department provides
intercollegiate varsity sports programs in women’s volleyball, men’s and
women’s basketball, baseball, golf and women’s softball so those
student-athletes who participate can enhance their college experience.
OUZ is a member of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference and abides by the
rules and regulations of that conference.
Littick Hall,
named for a former Ohio University coach and local businessman Clay
Littick, houses the gym which is used for basketball and volleyball games
and matches. The OUZ freshman basketball tournament is held during the
Christmas break each year, and this tournament brings many local junior
high players to campus. Littick is also used for indoor baseball and
softball practice complete with a free standing batting cage.
Tom
Checkush Field, named for a local baseball legend, provides a great
on-campus playing site for the baseball Tracers and the Spring of 2008
will see the newly built softball field ready for play. The commitment to
athletics and the student athletes is apparent when you see both a
softball field and a baseball field on campus. OUZ is one of the few
facilities in our conference to have on-campus facilities for these two
sports.
