OUZ Lady Tracers lost 2 games Saturday to UC Clermont. In
the first game with the score tied at 9, OU had the bases
loaded with no outs and got the fly ball they needed to
center field, but UC Center fielder Niki Doane threw a
perfect strike home to stop the go ahead run . Then, winning
pitcher Hanna Rinhart got a fly ball to third to end
the inning. Leading hitters for OUZ were Kristin Chipps with
3 hits and Sara Butts and Sara Stephenson with 2 hits
apiece. Leading hitters for UC Clermont were Melanie Vagedes
with a Triple , Double, and a Single., and Danielle Kidwell
with 3 singles.
In game 2, the Cougars from Clermont came out with hot bats
and went up on the Lady Tracer 8 -0 before OUZ got the bats
going and scored 3 runs in the fifth on a 3 run double from
Carla Brown. Winning pitcher in game 2 was Hanna Rinehart
helping her own cause with 3 singles and Amanda Diaz with a
double and a single. Leading hitters for OUZ were
Brown with the 3 run Double and Jenny Ward and Taryn Lawler
with 2 singles. Losing Pitcher was Jenny Ward.
OUZ plays again Friday night at home against OU Lancaster-
game time at 4:30. They hit the road Saturday morning to
play Miami Middletown. OUZ 's record is 1 -4 in league play.

The start of the season is under way
for the Lady Tracers of OUZ, playing in the first game of the year
against Miami Hamilton. In the first game it was OUZ 13 Miami
Hamilton 11 winning pitcher Jenny Ward led the way with 9 strikeouts
on the mound. Leading hitters for OUZ were Sara Butts with a 2 run
homerun and a single, Rickki Kneer and Sara Stephenson both with a
double and a single. Leading hitters for Miami were Sarah Pressler
with 2 singles. Losing pitcher was Brittani Stapleton.
In the
second game Miami jumped out to a 9 run lead and never looked back
even though the Lady Tracer wouldn't go away, cutting the lead down
to four going into the top of the seventh. When Miami scored 6 more
runs in the top of the seventh. Winning the game 20 - 11 for the
final. Leading hitters for Miami were Megan Batt with a 2 run Homer,
double and 2 singles and Sarah Pressler with 4 singles. Winning
Pitcher was Brittani Stapleton.
